I am very happy that I managed to see the Oscars last night and I mean not only the Red Carpet but the whole ceremony as well. You see is a bank holiday today, so we could stay up all night long with no regrets for being tired at work..! While writing this post, I am sitting in my sofa, drinking my hot latte! Pure bliss..
But let's stay focused on our subject! Yesterday Oscars' red carpet had glam, jet blacks, sexy details, sparkles, whites - many whites - and fiery reds! I thought that it would be better to share with you my favorite 10 appearances sorting them out by color, so lets start with the...
JET BLACKS
Angelina looked simply amazing and so sexy, in her velvet, high slit Versace Atelier. Her hair and the red lipstick just completed a perfect appearance.

Jessica Chastain made one of the best appearances by choosing
Alexander McQueen! The structure and the gold embroidery of the dress were really exquisite.

ELEGANT WHITES
Once again I loved the sleek beauty of
Gwyneth Paltrow. She was undoubtedly the queen of minimal in her
Tom Ford gown and..cape - yeah the cape made a statement. Her appearance in two words:
pure class!
JLo was stunning in her white- sillver
Zuhair Murad dress! Low neckline and back-line, cut-out shoulders and tight wrapping around her hips. In a word? Sexy..

Rooney Mara in a beautiful
Givenchy gown! Unfortunately I couldn't find photos to show you the back of the dress which was amazing!
Academy award winner
Octavia Spencer knows how to hit the red carpet! Her shimmering white
Tadashi Shoji - the designer behind all her award appearances this season - "flattered" her figure making her look very very chic!!

Milla Jovovits in
Elie Saab! Well, when it comes to Elie Saab no words are needed..Pure perfection.

NEUTRAL SHADES
I think
Kristen Wiig was one of the few who went with the nude shades, but this nude - sand, tulle
JMendel dress really made my heart beat a little faster!

FIERY REDS
Emma Stone apparently took a risk and won! She wore a Giambattista Valli gown that was very similar to the Balenciaga one that Nicole Kidman wore in 2007, with common characteristic the big bow. BUT if you ask me, Emma was just amazing whereas Nicole Kidman wasn't one of my favorites back then. I think the Giambattista Valli was much more "flowing" and after all you know what? Who cares about 2007? Emma was once again bold & beautiful.

Last but not least,
Michelle Williams looked very pretty in her orange/red
Louis Vuitton gown. Accessorized it with a diamond bow brooch and pink fuchsia clutch, her appearance this year was one of my favorites.
Oh! I'd like to share with you an extra favorite. Personally I think that the beautiful TV presenter
Louise Roe was one of the best dressed of the night in her
Black Halo long sleeved gown. This jacket effect looked very very chic on her.
So stay tuned for more Oscar posts and photos!

ReplyDeleteElie Saab just has the most amazing dresses. And the other person is right, the leg pose for Angelina is a bit annoying haha but I have to say the last black dress she wore to the SAG awards looked great too so thumbs up for the dresses!

Great picks! My favorite, however, would be Octavia Spencer's flattering and elegant dress. Not only did she win a prestigious acting award, she also won the applause of fashion critics everywhere! Kudos to Tadashi Shoji as well for giving Octavia her winning looks this awards season.
